Shoura cement began operations in 1980 under an acquired Spanish cement company named Spegyco. The company began producing its own cement in a mill located in the Port Said free zone. The mill owns a port of its own, thereby facilitating both the local and international product distribution. The mill, which was later acquired by Shoura in 2004, currently produces over 600,000 tons of cement per year.

In 1999, Shoura acquired a steel mill located in Sharqia. The mill covers an area of 12,000 sqm and is currently producing 50,000 tons of steel angles.
